I Need Sleep

Well, Hurricane Humberto just passed over us. No biggie. Honestly, I never watch a lot of TV anymore, so I didn't even know it was coming. Last I heard, it was supposed to hit Texas. Ah, well. The rain will do us good. It's kept the temps down, so our AC isn't running like crazy. Kiddos slept in a bit, 7:45 is late for us, which was nice. Seeing as there is no going outside to play today, we've made good use of the play room and movies. I love snuggling and watching movies with my kiddos when the weather is nasty. It doesn't help that Donovan is absolutely terrified of thunder. There's no sleeping when thunder is involved.

Lately, Trenton has been waking at night again, needing to come into our bed. No big deal, B and I don't mind. Well, we have a queen size bed and every morning around 6ish, Donovan's been waking as well to come crawl into bed. Whew. Two kids on either side of you makes for some not so good sleep. Billy gets the edge, Trenton's in between us, I'm in between Donovan and Trenton, and Donovan's by the wall. Feet in my face, and TT has a true love for body slamming when he's tired. I just don't get it. But, I'm not one to complain too much about my kids wanting to snuggle. I love it.

I am off work today thanks to Rosh Hashanah... Happy New Year!! I am off today and tomorrow, leaving for Slidell Saturday morning and unfortunately have to leave early Sunday morning to make it back in time to work. Couldn't get off. So, eight hours in the car again. Yuck! We are going to be running around like chickens with our heads cut off on Saturday, Heather is picking up the balloons for us at Party City, and I still have to make it to Sam's to pick up hot dogs and hot dog buns and all the necessary condiments. Not doing anything too big, because we're broke. Ordered the cakes from Winn Dixie yesterday, so have to pick those up by 11. I am so thankful Sandy's letting us have the party at her house, and I hope there is as good a turnout as there was for both of Donovan's birthdays.

Billy has loads of English homework to do, so I'm going to be nice and let him come do it while the kiddos and I veg out and then play some more.

I promise to write more. I just have to find my rhythm again.

P.S. Congratulations Mandy & Brandon on baby Keagen!! (hope I spelled that right, sorry if I didn't!)

I know it has been quite a while. The urge to write has completely subsided lately. I no longer have that compelling urge, that need, that hunger to write. I have been doing lots of reading lately, catching up on several novels I hadn't had the opportunity to finish. I am also in the middle of a huge upheaval in my life. We are moving 4 hours across state - away from the place I was born and raised, away from everything I know. For a good while, I was thrilled and excited. Now? I'm nervous. I'm scared. I want to cry. This week has been spent hanging out with my girl friends and enjoying each other's company before I'm a distance we can't easily traverse in a matter of thirty mintues or less. I thought I would be okay with it all, but now I'm not so sure. I am going to miss my friends. They have been my family through the good and the bad. They have always been there for me, and even though we have had our rough times, I love them so dearly. I am moving nearly an hour north of the only friend I will have out there ( Mandy! ), and I'm worried I will feel isolated and alone. I have suffered from post partum depression quietly for nearly two years now. My mother has given me her prescription for an antidepressant to try to wake me up out of my funk. I feel better, but with this new swing of emotions, I'm wondering if everything will come tumbling down again. It's a horrible feeling to feel as if you're losing your mind. I don't want to be there again.

And not to mention, I miss my kids horribly. The first day was a welcome break. It was nice to have the house to myself, to be able to work in quiet, clean on my own time schedule and sleep in a roomy bed all to myself. Now, my heart and body ache to be with my children. Donovan and Trenton are at my mom's and are enjoying themselves immensely. My mom is worn out, repeatedly mentions on the phone that she doesn't know how I do it. My husband is out working on running water lines, sewer lines, finishing up the septic tank, and running the power lines. As soon as everything is set up, my mother is being so generous to have someone to come in and give the trailer a really good deep cleaning. I am grateful, as I am here at my home cleaning like a mad woman. I cannot wait until Friday when the UHaul is here and loaded and I clean the house while it is empty.  We still have to paint all the trim in the house, paint the grout in the master bathroom, fix some broken tiles, paint the grout in a few other places and touch up paint in other places.

My realtor showed the house yesterday, but no call from her today. I think we will lower the price and make sure she notes on the listing that there is a carpet allowance.I don't blame anyone for not wanting my horrible black carpet. I don't want it either.

Well, on that note, I am going to start folding laundry and get ready for bed. I am going to have an early night tonight so I can get a lot of stuff done tomorrow before work at 2. Next week, I start my new shift of 3-8, which I'm nervous about. I want to be able to cook dinner and put the kids down for bed still. Bedtime might just have to be pushed back a half hour or so. No biggie. K. I'm off.

Today so far has been great! We woke up at a decent time, Donovan came in to tell me he had "poo-poo" and brought me his diaper to change him, but was absolutely frantic that he couldn't find the wipes in his room. He proceeded to tell me that he had to go into Baby's room to get the wipes. I assured him the wipes were in the living room, so we trotted in there to change his diaper. We laid down on the couch and "cubbled," his word for cuddle, while he watched a bit of Sesame Street. He had "Mommy's cereal" for breakfast which was Honey Bunches of Oats. Trenton woke up shortly thereafter, he ate some Cheerio's and a yogurt, as usual. He has to have his yogurt for breakfast every single morning. You don't want to mess with that child if he doesn't!

Well, we loaded up and headed out to the gym. I dropped the kiddos off at the daycare, and went to the pool. I only got about 20 minutes worth of laps in before I realized what time it was. Trenton needed a bottle and a nap. So, I got the kiddos and home we came. After Trenton crashed, Donovan and I went outside to play. We pretended to be helicopters and airplanes and I laid out to get some sun while he cut the grass and chased after Lola. All in all, so far, so good. TT should be up any minute... Donovan just made me another present in his pants (woop-dee-do), and he has now proceeded to crawl underneath my bed. Gosh, kids are FUN!!! I betcha he'll get stuck.

I start my first day with my new job today at 2. I'm just doing emails until I get my phone jack in, which should be today. FedEx doesn't usually come until the afternoon time, so I might not be on calls today, but that's alright. Either way, I'll be working! I get my first paycheck two weeks from tomorrow. I took all 4 deductions because I'm not giving Uncle Sam my money interest free throughout the year! Ok, I'm babbling and Donovan wants to type some.

Here we go: oo LOL, that was it!

Everyone have a blessed day. Christy
